Ricky Paine, 38, and Antionne Russell, 19, two black men, were shot at the intersection of Blount Place and Atlantic Avenue in Lynwood at about 8:02 p.m. Wednesday, March 12. Both men were transported to a local hospital, where they were both pronounced dead. Russell's time of death was listed at 8:34 p.m. Paine's time of death was listed at 8:50 p.m., according to a coroner's report.

To both of these families that lost love ones, I give my condolescense. I knew both of these guys and they were very sweet people. It is a same that we can not live together in society today as one. Instead of killing one another reach out and help each other and get to know one another. In turn of that you just might like that person. The cowards who took these mens lives have to face our lord above and deal with there sentence. As the saying goes, "WHAT COMES AROUND, GOES AROUND" and please believe that the goes around comes around 3 times worse. So before one thinks about taking someones life because they feel like it, just take your own. You two guys will be missed, Love your friend

Myisha,
Do you have the name of these two men and when their funeral services will be? I went to this location and noticed that one of the men had gang items lying around. Were they affiliated with a gang? Were they fathers? Does the police have suspects?

shall they both rest in peace..
i knew one of the victims, and its so horibble that they had to go this way.. whether gang violence was involved or not, neither of them deserved to be killed.

I am so sadden by the lost of yet two more people in our society. I really does not matter if they were a part of a gang, what matters is there is so much violence in our society period. That is not the questions that should be asked The questions should be, how can, we/I help as a citizen, as a concerned person, about the violence that is and has been prevalent in many communities through out Los Angeles county and beyond for far too many years. We as a society must understand this, and further, that we are an extension of each other, like it our not, and we all need to try to do something to help stop the VIOLENCE. My organization helps victims of any crime, and works with children that have experienced trauma associated with violence, especially those that have lost loved ones.

i do not know these two young men but my prayers goes out to their Parents, this black violence has to stop we as people must realize that we have been at war with each other since slavery and then we taught this same rage in the seventies of black hating blacks when we have so manypeople that hate US standing around , i was one who really did have a hand in this gang banging in my community, and after 37 years of pushing a hard line for violence i NOW teach young men how to live without fear of these streets, i have taken the old shoes off their feet and put some new ones, we as people must come to terms with this look around you, look in the harbor gateway????? wake Negro America

My husband and I had just got home when I heard the gunshots. I think...7 in total. This time the gun sounded more powerful...an automatic but one where it is pumped between each shot. I told my husband..."oh, this one is bad". We hear gunshots all the time but this time, they sounded different. Alarmed, I called my son and daughter to check where they were. My son was in Carson...thank God but my daughter didn't answer her phone. However, I wasn't worried since she doesn't hang around the neighborhood although she parks on Atlantic. I started to go see what was going on {out of concern}. Afew minutes later, I heard sirens for the paramedics and the sheriff's helicopter overhead but I never heard sheriff's sirens responding to the scene and decided...it was still to dangerous to go outside. A mother concerned about her children could not go outside in her own neighborhood because it has not been secured yet after another fatal shooting. The next day, my son told me who had been shot and my heart has not stopped hurting since. Two young men...I often saw...standing around the neighborhood...are not standing around the neighborhood anymore. They wore their gang colors but inside the clothing was someone's son...someone's father...they were neighbors. Such a senseless, ruthless killing....in the neighborhood.

This stuff is never going to end..there are always gonna be some people that will never get the message..and for those that participate in gang activity..regardless if your a good person or not..you get burned when you play with fire..I feel bad that life was lost..but if they were involved in shady stuff..thats probably par for the course..sorry to say..

I am sorry for your loss, family. I hope that God will give you comfort.
And to Joe, good people don't bang because the word means the firing of a gun ... no one who "bangs" (kills) can be considered "good" people.
