Florence: A Latino man was shot in the 8119 S. Hooper Ave. about 9:28 p.m. Sunday, March 16, in the unincorporated area of Florence. Sheriff’s homicide Lt. Patrick Nelson described the victim as 20 to 25 years old. Nelson said deputies responding to a ‘shots fired’ call found the man lying wounded on the sidewalk. The wounded man was taken to St. Francis hospital in Lynwood, were he was pronounced dead 9:54 p.m.
