February 7, 2008 | 11:26 am

William Barnes, a 50-year-old black man, was shot in the neck inside his home in the 45000 block of 70th Street West in Lancaster at about 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. Barnes was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 3. According to detectives from the sheriff's homicide bureau, Barnes and John Vigil Sr., a 39-year-old white man, wrestled over a gun during an argument, setting the weapon off, authorities said. Vigil's 17-year-old son was grazed in the stomach. Barnes was then hit in the neck. Sheriff's deputies arrested Vigil Sr., on suspicion of murder.
