Alvaro Calderon, 31, a Latino man, was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting at 12801 Strathern St. in North Hollywood at about 11:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25. Officers with LAPD’s North Hollywood Division responded to a call of a man down and discovered Calderon on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. The shooting is believed to be gang-related, said Officer Mike Lopez of LAPD’s media relations office. According to detectives, Calderon was walking south on Bellaire Avenue when he was shot. Calderon was taken by ambulance to Holy Cross hospital, where he died the next day at 12:15 a.m.
