Rodney Beverly, 47

Rodney Beverly, a 47 year-old black man, was stabbed to death at 1246 W. 68th Street in South Los Angeles at about 1 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9.  According to Officer Refugio Garza of the South Bureau Homicide, Beverly stumbled into a transitional housing center where he lived and collapsed. Beverly was transported to California Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m.

Rodney was such a wonderful father to his children. He was actively involved in their education. As a high school counselor, I really enjoyed working with you.
