Maisha,

First of all much love to you and your family. I was at a lost for words when I heard of the terrible tragedy bestowed upon your family. After many years apart I found my my first cousin Maisha. Please know you are in my prayers and I love you very much. Sometimes we are at a lost for words this is one of those times. You mentioned that Mike knew the Lord this is a comfort that will allow you to maintain strength needed for yourself as well as your children. Much love,
your cousin Charmayne

This is Mark's wife Maisha and want to bless everyone and thank you for your prayers. My husband was a saved man and that has brought me peace. Take this loss as a lesson to hold to the ones you love and get a personal relationship with God. Through this tragedy he has given me a strength I did'nt know existed in me. I thank the Father every morning and night for the love he allowed to share in with Mark. Please continue to pray for my beautiful childeren and our unborn child. God does not make mistakes. Thank You and God bless.... Jacquelyne Maisha Leonard. M & M will continue to be a blessing in the community. Mark's dream will stay alive!!!!! I miss and love you Mickey... Mai

Wow. It has been months since I was able to go to M & M carwash. I went to finally get my free car wash but they had moved and even though they left a forwarding address I could'nt find it. I looked and looked. My friend found it and I went today. Only to be told by his PREGNANT wife he had passed away 2 weeks ago. My God my God... This lady had the goodness & strength of heart to be there keeping their dream alive. She said she thanked God for the time she'd had him in her life. I know she is precious....... and the daughter praying for the coward who did this horrible horrible thing, She too is precious..... It takes really knowing God to be able to be grateful at a time such as this. Well........to the family, look to God from whence cometh your help and allow him to help you through this. He loves you.......

Dear Monique, your letter to your Dad was one of the saddest things I have ever read. Its very touching and I pray God use this to reach others. I dont know you but I can tell by your words that God will use you and you will go far and be a blessing to others. God Bless you and your family, I will be praying for you all.

I was also a customer when Mike's business was on Compton Blvd. He and his wife were wonderful people and I noticed some of the workers appeared to be people no one else would probably have giving the chance to make an honest living. I was very hurt and shocked when I first read about his death. Every time I went to get my car serviced his wife and I would just laugh and talk. I too have lived in Compton all my life and I just wish we would band together. As a Black woman, we need our men to step into their rightful places. This is so sad and such a waste!

This tradegy has affected not only Mike's family, but more people than imagined..

To Mike's family:
You are in my prayers. Know that he touched more people than was obvious.

Met this brotha about a year ago...at his car wash of Compton Blvd. My wife and I supported their business and looked at them as role models being they worked for themselves. They employed a lot of your brothas black and brown that probably would not be able to get work any where else. He personally made sure my Harley was sparkliing and said "dont worry about it I clean them like they my own" He put 2 guys on my bike and made his business and customers a priority! I have lived in Compton all my life...I love the city, the people, it's hard to give up on aplace that has such hope and promise...I see it everyday...my neighbors their families...we all want the same things...health, saftey and prosperity. Unfortunately there are people in this world...not just Compton that are truly evil and can care less about another persons life...no humanity, class, kindness, empathy in the heart of men today. RIP Big Homie...God bless your family and friends and all the lives you have touched!

There will be a time

There comes a time when it’s just time to go
No one will know…
Only God can show
My love for you is unexplainable seeing you go is painful.
When it comes to being a father you are all I know.
You have taught me a lot,
Any man can make a baby but it takes a real man to be a father.
And a father is what you are to me.
I love you and will never forget
The times you spent with me.
I know it’s said “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”!
That’s why God has opened up heaven’s doors.
He opened the doors to a man who was saved and loved his kids and through his kids we shall live on the legacy of him.
Dad, you are not forgotten, for we your kids will live your life through us and share the memories among each other.
I thank God for giving time to share my life with you.
There comes a time when it’s just time to go
No one will know…
Only God can show.
I know you are now in peace no worries no hurt no pain... I love you dad until we meet again I will always know…
There comes a time when it’s just time to go
No one will Know only God can show.
Love always your daughter

IT IS REAL SAD WHEN WE AS PEOPLE CAN NOT GET ALONG IN THE SAME PLACE THAT WE SPEND ALL OF OUR LIVES TOGETHER. HERE YOU HAVE A MAN TRYING TO DO A GOOD DEED IN HIS OWN COMMUNTY HE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HELP EVERYONE BUT I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT HE DID TRY TO DO GOOD. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO ASK YOUR SELF IS IT REALLY WORTH IT. MICK TRIED HIS BEST TO BE BETTER FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN THIS CITY HE GAVE YOUNG PEOPLE A CHANCE. I DO HOPE THAT IF THERE IS NOTHING REMEMBERD THAT THIS ONE THING WILL BE , HE WORKED TO BE A BETTER PERSON, MORE THAN SOME GAVE THE MAN CREDIT FOR. MUCH LOVE MICK&MIESHA RASHONE"BIGSHOT"LEWIS
