Craig Moore, 18

Craig Moore, 18, a young black man, was shot through the head at 1600 W. Piru St. in Compton, and died at 3:39 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. He was walking westbound when drive-by shooters cruised past in a rust-colored car. He was rushed to Gardena Memorial hospital, where he was pronounced dead. HR is seeking more information on this homicide. Anyone with information or tips is asked to call the sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

My prayers are with the Moore family, Im a staff at Camp Holton and Craig was one of the best minor's there. This young man was respectful, quite, and his attitude was always pleasant. Im so devastated and disappointed that he was taken away. I'm decided to view this cite without knowing that this incident happened. I'm simply speechless and heartbroken. I pray to God that this violence stops. Our kids are not safe no damn where.

My name is Tasha Thompson and I am the mother of Craig Moore. I submitting this post to tell everyone what kind of son I had. Craig was very well loved by family and friends. He worked for UPS part-time and was interested in working for TSA. He was going to start El Camino College in February. He wanted to go to the Navy and become a Federal Air Marshal. My son had a plan. He wanted to do positive things with his life. CRAIG WAS NOT GANG AFFILIATED. I truly miss him. His little brother and little sisters miss him. His father and stepfather miss him. I'am at a loss for words, this is the third person that I have had the pleasure of playing football with to be killed this year. Daily I search this sight wondering who is going to be next; while attending high school there was not a day that would go by that I would not speak to Craig and he would like wise do the same.Now I (due to graduation) have no idea of what his personal life consisted of recently, but it in no way deserved a shot to the head end to it. Whoever killed Craig is probably feared or respected on the street right now, but I challenge them to step into a corporate office and see who fears or respects them. I am another cousin of Craig and just disturbed to see another child lost to violence. I sympathize with his Mom, siblings, grandparents and all other family members. This is truly ridiculous how COWARDS take the easy way out by shooting someone, especially someone walking down the street, can't get no lower than that, regardless of the situation when you take anothers LIFE. You definitely have crossed the line and GOD said revenge is his. I feel sorry when when the killer has to look our savior in the eyes, because every knee shall bow & tongue confess that JESUS is LORD. At this point we trust in GOD not man & know that GOD is real & in control.
