Esteban Garcia, 15

Esteban Garcia, a 15-year-old Latino youth, was shot at 2125 S. Hooper Ave. around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, according to LAPD Newton-area detectives. He was taken to County-USC Hospital, where he died. Garcia was driving a car out of an alley when the bullet hit him. His foot slammed into the accelerator, and the car lurched forward and flipped over. Garcia was a student in Santa Monica. His family had recently moved from the area, but he had returned to visit. Wow, just 15 years old. For all you who are grieving for this now dead child and are gang members you should be ashamed of yourselves. This young man died because he was associated with gang life and for you gang members to claim to miss him is a lie. The life you chose is dangerous and the end result is death. It's very sad to read about this young kids death. Being 15 and from what the time indicates, he should've been home with his parents. I don't know? I do remember my parents being strict at me at that age. Was this kid already invold in street gangs or was he just at the wrong place at wrong time? I wish the family the very best, and hopefully in time they can find a way to move on.
