Emmanuel Sauer-Chambers, 20

Emmanuel Sauer-Chambers, 20, a young black man, was shot at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in the 3500 block of South Street in Long Beach.  Officers responding to a shooting call found him wounded. He was taken to a hospital, but did not survive. His time of death was listed as 7:58 a.m.

Long Beach police said that he  had been standing at Downey Avenue and South Street when a man his age approached, and shot him.

Update: Dets. Hugo Cortes and Mark McGuire of the Long Beach Police have cleared this case.

I am Manny's Dad. Today is April 15 2008. I was informed by the police that April 16, 2008 will be the day the man that killed Manny will be in court for a preliminary hearing. I will finally hear what happen to Emmanuel. My heart is broken and tomorrow I will re-live the day my son died. Thanks for the messages of love for Manny.

I was a friend of Manny's since 2nd grade. Manny was a great friend and was loved by many people. We love you and always will.

August 14, 2009. Just found out. So very sorry for the loss your family and friends must endure.I know you were loved. I thought of you, Michael and Keisha often, hoping and praying you all were fine. You will be missed and in my prayers. May forgivness be the ultimate end and may your soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ rest in peace. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Everytime I hear your name I remember the day I met you. How much you liked to make everyone laugh. We all miss you Manny! I'll see you again, when it's my time.
