Dion Holloway, 17

Holloway_dion_lamarDion Holloway, 17, a black youth, was shot at 1731 Belmont Ave. in Pasadena at about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, and died at the scene. Officers responding to a "shots-fired" call found him dead in the street with multiple wounds, said Lt. Keith Jones of the Pasadena Police Department.

He was walking on the sidewalk when his attackers pulled up in a dark SUV; a man or youth got out and started shooting, said Pasadena Lt. John Dewar. The victim tried to run, but was struck as he fled and fell to the ground. The assailant then shot him again, execution-style.

Dion is the second son in this family to be murdered. His brother was a Pasadena homicide victim in 2005, police said.

Detectives seek any information on the case. Call (626) 744-4522.

IT SO SAD, THAT SUCH AN INNOCENT YOUNG MAN HAD TO DEPART THIS WORLD AT SUCH A TENDER AGE.
HE'LL BE GREATLY MISSED, NO DOUBT. BUT I'VE ELECTED TO LET HIM NOT DIE IN VAIN. I APPEAL TO ALL THE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN TO LAY DOWN YOUR WEAPONS AND STOP THE VIOLENCE NOW.
IN LIFE WE HAVE TO MAKE CHOICES, LET THIS BE YOUR CHOICE.
TO LEAD A STRONG PRODUCTIVE LIFE IN THE POSITIVE, IT MAKES NO SENSE TO CONTINUE THIS PATH OF DISTRUCTION AGAINST YOUR FELLOW MAN. I LEANGER FOR THE LOVE THAT WE HAD FOR ONE ANOTHER OF YESTERYEAR . CHRISTIANS PRAY WITH ME AND FOR THE LOST GENERATION, THAT THEY MAY OVERCOME THIS MALICE.
PREACHERS, AND CLERGY STAND STRONG IN YOUR PULPITS AGAINST THESE STREET HOODS AND HOODLUMS. BECAUSE NON OF US ARE EXEPEMT, ANY DAY WE CAN FALL VICTIM OF THESE WILD AND TURBULANT CIRCUMSTANCES. RIP LITTLE NEPHEW, I'LL SEE YOU IN THE SWEET BYE AND BYE.

UNCLE COCHISE

P.S. DION SHOWED A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF TALENT ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD. BEFORE PASSING HE DISCUSSED WITH ME, AND HE AGREED TO ME DIRECTING HIS PATH TO COLLEGE, SO HE CAN PERSUE A CARRER IN THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE, HE NEVER GOT THAT CHANCE.

Dion,

It's sad to see you go, especially with you being so young and having a new baby. Pasadena is getting so crazy we don't know what to do anymore. I pray that you can move on to Heaven to be with your brother. Justice will be served if not here on earth, then when they get to those pearly gates and face the One and Only Man who can truely judge them

May you rest peacefully.....
