Alicia Cox, 26
Alicia Cox, 26, a white woman, was shot multiple times and killed in a house in the 38500 block of Sage Tree Street in Palmdale. She was visiting a friend, and quarreled with the friend's live-in boyfriend, who investigators believe pulled a handgun and shot her. Her time of death was listed as 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Police searched the area and later found the young man hiding in another residence. They named him a suspect and arrested him on unrelated warrant; he is Anthony Limaco, a 21-year-old white man. The nature of the conflict was domestic, a triangle of some kind involving Cox, although it remains unclear whether romantic issues or other problems were at stake, said Lt. Dan Rosenberg of the sheriff's homicide bureau. The investigation continues.

NOW SEE HERE'S A PERFECT EXAMPLE. THESE PEOPLE WERE WHITE, WOULD IT MAKE ANY SENSE FOR ME TO SAY WELL IF THE ANCESTORS OF THE GUY WHO KILLED WOULD'VE NEVER CAM TO AMERICA THIS WOMAN WOULD'VE BEEN ALIVE. NO! RIGHT SO STOP SAYING THAT IF THE ILLEGALS WERE NEVER HERE THEN CRIME WOULD GO DOWN.
MAY SHE REST IN PEACE. MY CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO HER AND HER FAMILY.

Legal and Illegal immigration are at its highest these past 10 years and violent crime has been on a DECREASE for the past 30 years and is at its lowest the past 5 years. It just seems higher beacuse of all these media reports and O'reilly factors and CNN we consume ourselves with, please people pick up a book and read the facts dont be brainwashed by these media outlets. Stop being scared, come up with your OWN opinion, do some research, go out and see the facts DONT believe everything you see, IMMIGRATION is not our biggest problem, getting rid of all these "aliens" is NOT the answer, well said Diana.
As far as this lady that is very sad and tragic way to die I hope this guy rots in jail and thinks of her every night while he's in his cell, and my deepest condolences to the family.

This homicide happened in a very nice neighborhood in Palmdale. It does not always happen in Compton or South Central LA. May she rest in peace. There are deranged people in decent neighborhoods.
Posted by: Rick | September 13, 2007 at 05:04 AM
Rick, assuming that the neighborhood in Palmdale is nice, I can say odd's are that Compton has more homicides in a week or month than that neighborhood has had in many years or decades.

Ruben, care to look into some DOJ statistics that say that 1/3rd of the state and federal prisoners in the jails are illegal aliens?
All those criminals in there are locked up because of crimes they commited.
Our crime rate would be even lower if they werent here in the first place.
Please investigate the facts before spreading slogans.

White black, hispanic or otherwise this was a crime of PASSION and HATE... the young man was distraught because his girlfriend and mother of his CHILD (that was present at the time of the shooting) was cheating on him with the young lady that he killed. After coming "out" Limaco split up with his girlfriend and IMO, came back for revenge. Sick people out there. They are everywhere... you just never know who you are living next door to.

And they say racism is a thing of the past. Current trends of xenophobia in the U.S. are directed at Mexicans, who the great majority of ignorant Americans seem to envelope as all Latin Americans who are illegal aliens. While it may hold true that a great percentage of Mexicans make up the illega population, there shouldn't be any generalizations of the entire group. Additionally, I've kept track of some of the comments that "Mark" has made on some of the other reports; Mark seems to be the embodiment of xenophobic racsit America. He makes allusions to generalized arguments made popular by the conservative media and he wholly and truly believes that illegal aliens are THE problem facing America. I'd hate to break it to you Mark, but, illegal aliens, while being a problem, are not THE problem. If you feel insecure about your job prospects (which seems to be a popular argument of the conservatives), then maybe you ought to get a better education...seeing as this tends to lead to higher paying jobs (remember, the 'illegals' that take good 'ol American jobs tend to be uneducated). Additionally, if you're afraid of being mugged, murdered, or god forbid, raped, you ought to consider infusing the political system with a better infrastructure capable of meeting new age demands. If you haven't noticed, our current system is somewhat antiquated. Focusing your attention on a superficial problem will not resolve problems that are deeply rooted within an aging system.
One more thing: I feel incredibly bad for diverting attention from the deaths of all these individuals to an issue that is irrelevant. I grew up in South Central and I know that these crimes occur frequently without media attention or public concern. I applaud the unprecedented media coverage of these killings. Moreover, I want to make it a point that it is selfish and idiotic for anyone to attempt to draw attention to another topic of little relevance.

mark - just because 1/3 of people incarcerated are illegals, doesn't mean 1/3 of all crimes are committed BY illegals. with all the overcrowding, and poor legal representation, they're are just the unlucky ones that get stuck in prision. not to say they don't belong there, but anyway. i'd not take too many government reports at face value.

I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE WHEN THEY SAY COMPTON IS BAD, IT'S BAD NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO. WHITE PEOPLE COMMIT CRIME JUST AS MUCH AS AFRO AMERICANS AND MEXICANS I DON'T LIKE USING THE WORD MEXICANS CAUSE IT SOUNDS NEGATIVE BUT ANY WAY THEY JUST DON'T TALK ABOUT WHITE CRIMINALS LIKE THEY TALK ABOUT MEXICANS AND AFRO AMERICANS I CAN'T SEE WHY THE MEXICANS AND AFRO AMERICANS CAN'T GET IT TOGETHER WE NEED TO STOP HATING AND KILLING ONE ANOTHER WE NEED TO STICK TOGETHER BECAUSE WE ARE NO DIFFERENT WHEN IT COMES TO THE WHITE MAN.
THINK ABOUT IT WE ARE KILLING OUR OWN PEOPLE AND EACH OTHER EVERDAY IT'S SAD I LOVE MY BROWN PRIDE BROTHERS AND SISTERS
WE NEED ONE ANOTHER.

Data from the census and other sources show that for every ethnic group without exception, incarceration rates among young men are lowest for immigrants, even those who are the least educated. This holds true especially for the Mexicans, Salvadorans, and Guatemalans who make up the bulk of the undocumented population. What is more, these patterns have been observed consistently over the last three decennial censuses.
Among men age 18-39 (who comprise the vast majority of the prison population), the 3.5 percent incarceration rate of the native-born in 2000 was 5 times higher than the 0.7 percent incarceration rate of the foreign-born.

To a level unprecedented in recent years, America's Latino immigrant population has become the primary focus of hateful and racist rhetoric and extreme violence. Hispanics, regardless of their citizenship or immigration status, increasingly are becoming the targets of hatred and violence.
Posted by: torr | September 16, 2007 at 09:42 AM
Earnest, there are two types of immigrants. Those that are legal, and those that are illegal. I have a
disdain for illegals because they tend to be by definition, people who break the law.
Now how can I be a racist xenophobe when I am an immigrant myself? You seem to be one of
those sloganeers who yell "racist" anytime you cannot debate the facts. People like yourself need
to rise above the liberal inspired politically correct hate speech and rhetoric and try to debate with
facts, not emotions.
My education level and current employment leaves me far above the types of competition unskilled
migrants bring to the workplace. I have nothing to worry about.
Am I afraid of being a victim? In my city, street crime is an abnormality, a rarity. I do agree with
you that the current political system is broken. But then it is run at every level by Democrats, so
you need to change have change in that party and not blame us "conservatives".
Now earnest, do you agree or not agree that far to many crimes are being committed by illegal aliens?
Should we as a society tolerate the crimes committed by people who are not supposed to be here and who are not here to work?
Posted by: Mark | September 16, 2007 at 05:06 PM
Earnest, since you seem to be into name-calling conservatives, may I take this opportunity to let you know that you're a priggish fool.
And Diana, please darlin' - all caps indicates shouting and/or someone who is not familiar with a keyboard. In either case, it detracts from your message.
Posted by: NancyGee | September 16, 2007 at 05:53 PM
Earnest, it is OK to acknowledge the pink elephant in the middle of the room. Your answer to any mention of illegal immigration and its errosive effects on life in S Cal is to cry racism/xenophobia and downplay the situation. As a hospital based physician I can tell you that Illegal immigration has been a MASSIVE burden on the system. Don't call me racist if I point out the obvious. And while we are on the subject can you tell me if you are a member of MECHA, and if so please explain that groups slogan. Something about "everything for brown people, nothing for everyone else"?
Posted by: buz algood | September 16, 2007 at 06:03 PM
Mark
First of all you need to cancel your subscription to KKK magazine and Lou Dobbs Magazine because your facts are all wrong. And Buzz Algood do some research on MECHA before you call them out.
Now Mark your saying that Illegal immigrants take up 1/3 of state and Federal prison ....FALSE
In FACT they take up 10 % and some researchers say it can be as low as 4 % and they are the most non violent people in prisons. I have SEVERAL uncles who are correction officers and i know people who are in prison and work for prison dept such as probation officers, and i know for a FACT that illegal immigrants are the most harrassed inside prison and stay out of trouble inside prison so do some REAL research before stating LIES !
Immigrants DONT wake up one day and say "hey i want to go rob steal and kill in the USA" they come over here to work for a better life and send money back home.
USA is also 8th on violent crimes per capita and 1st on crimes overall and there is NO Latin America country until 38th which is Mexico, so how do you blame that on illegal immigrants. These are facts from NON buyist census and researchers and i will post links below. Now what I'm trying to state in all this is that YES i know illegal immigration is a problem YES i know they are a burden and YES i know some immigrants have NO reason being here, but Illegal Immigration is not our biggest problem !! WE have bigger issues dont believe Lou Dobbs and CNN and Bill O'reilly do some research !!

I was just curious what does being an illegal immigrant have to do with this case? The guy arrested is Peruvian, but he was born in New York. No one is illegal including the parents. My condolensces also go out to Alicia and her family, she was a terrific person, and did not deserve to die this way. I will miss hanging out with her at Rage.
Posted by: Ali | September 17, 2007 at 12:18 PM
hahaha. No, I am not a member of MEChA. Neither am I a knee-jerk liberal. Nancgy-Gee, I love your ad hominem comment; you should avoid name calling, for it makes you look ignorant. And while I did make references to conservatives, I never called anyone names and I expect the same level of basic etiqutte that I've shown you from all who decide to reply on this thread.
Buz algood, you say that you've seen the effects of illegal immigration first hand. I want to ask, by any chance, do you think that the "MASSIVE burden on the system" caused by illegal immigration, could be attributed to the fact that many basic social services offerred to residents and citizens are denied to illegal immigrants?
See, it's easy to pass legislation that will block services to illegal immigrants. Unfortunately, many do not have the hindsight to see that by blocking certain services, you will see an overwhelming amount of individuals flood to other sectors that are still open to them. When basic social services are denied and with the high price of medical insurance, it makes sense that illegal immigrants would divert their attention to "free" or accessible services; i.e. the ER and hospital rooms. ANY further legislation attempting to block services for these individuals will ultimately fail, because the underlying logic of this type of legislation is to curve immigration through denial of services. However, what is rarely taken into account is that these services are not going to curve immigration. Immigrants do not come to America expecting social services (contrary to popular opinion). They come to America seeking jobs and wages; which they readily find from employers seeking cheap and efficient labor.
When I made the statement that those individuals who focus predominantly on the illegal immigration issue are xenophobic and racist, I did so because I truly believe this is the case. You run afoul crying how the "illegal immigrants" are watering down American values, burdening the system, etc., all the while failing to make the correlation that when you speak of "illegal immigrants" you have a set picture of what one looks like...in most cases, the picture that comes to mind when you hear "illegal immigrant," is of an individual with Mexican features. Deny this all you want, but, this is the case. You want further proof that you are racist and xenophobic? Proposition 227 banned billingual education in CA...any guess as to what the second most used language in CA is? Spanish. Any guesses as to who speaks it? How about Latinos...who by coincidence make up 35% of the population in CA. Furthermore, the ads in support of this proposition predominantly featured Latinos, and the drive to gain Latino support of this proposition was also great.
Simply because one fails to explicitly mention race in an argument doesn't mean that the issue is not relevant. Culture and race are deeply intertwined, with language being an important part of one's race (especially for first generation immigrants). Because your language is at face race-neutral, it does seem like you are egalitarian people; however, when one looks closely at the effects that the enforcement of such racially-neutral laws have on the population, then one can best comprehend the extent to which these seemingly racial free words affect one sector of the population more than any other.
I am a moderate. I am not a liberal nor am I a conservative. I am a minority and I am affected by the enforcement of immigration laws, eventhough I am a US Citizen. Who do you think gets pulled over by law enforcement agents for being suspected of being an 'illegal'? It's me, the brown skinned Mexican looking man.
Posted by: Earnest | September 17, 2007 at 12:59 PM
mark is just an outsider trying to start trouble. let him vomit all over, but the really intelligent sounding individual here is the brown mexican man getting pulled over by the cops. great response. ultimately this post is about a young woman killed by a young man. this is very sad and an example of how crime happens any place and to anybody...even new born babies get shot :( may this young woman rest in peace and not be disturbed by these ignorant folks who stir up more anti immigration vomit. i never knew you, but you will be greatly missed young lady. never mind what these fools have to say, you just sit watch and laugh in a borderless land from beyond.

Ali, the discussion took a divergent course from an earlier comment.
But since a murder is a murder, theres nothing wrong with talking about any in general.

Great comment Earnest !
It's nice to see there are some sane people still in Los Angeles and yes lets not forget where we are at, my condolences to the friends and family of this person.
Posted by: ruben | September 17, 2007 at 03:58 PM
First of all I am an L.A. Native and have seen the crime go up and down in this city. Unfortunately the type of ugly, anti-immigration hate and propaganda that I have seen grow in the last 10 years here in Los Angeles and throughout the country is frightening (courtesy of people like Mark who have a] nothing better to do OR b] misrepresent the facts). By the way Mark I suggest you take another look at those DOJ stats that you referenced because your are WRONG! Also if you are so concerned about the financial pull on the federal and state government I suggest you take a look at the war in IRAQ (which is being fought by immigrants) which has cost us (taxpayers, legal and illegal) in excess of 100 billion dollars. Guess what your diatribe against illegals is not only pathetic but shows that you are looking for scapegoats not solutions. We need less of your kind here in Los Angeles..
Finally to the family of the young killed woman who was killed my very sincere condolences. Hate in all forms is ugly.

Funny thing is... if you go to the LASD inmate information... Anthony Limaco is HISPANIC.... Either way he is a MURDERER. And God Rest Alicia's sole.

Oh man i am so embarrassed @ u people. This is a place to comment on this young womans death. NOT to debate on the stats of immigrants. That was extremely disrespectful and i dont understand how the moderator allowed so many irrelavent comments
Posted by: outraged | September 28, 2007 at 09:01 AM
I was a good friend of the victim and an aquaintance with the murderer.
If we need to focus on anything it actually is the treatment of minorities in the country and not just racial minorities, but all minorities. This encompasses more than just white versus, black versus, hispanic versus, gay versus, transgendered versus, man versus, woman versus...
It all comes down to being honest in an appropriate and respectful manner with one another despite differences or appearances. Race aside, because race is not a factor in this incident.

As I read the other postings, I realize that some people will use any possible way to post nonsense about their points of view on virtually any topic. None of these have anything to do with the truth of this issue.
This problem came from Alicia pretending to be Tony's friend to be near Jen. Jen and Tony had been together for years and Alicia (a lesbian) broke them up. Alicia had also been Tonys business partner for many years and his best friend. Anyone who does something like this puts themself at risk for getting hurt. Common sense and a sense of morals tell us to never do these kinds of things.
While horrible and tragic, it is a situation that could have been avoided with a sense of right and wrong and also by not throwing it into the face of everyone involved. Even the best people snap under these conditions and good friends and family of these two women should have stepped in and told them to back off before something bad happened. All of us that knew both of them knew that neither one
were the type to put up with this bullshit. Human behavior is pretty predictable - you hurt a man in such a horrible way and you cant know what will eventually happen. Tony should have never done what he did, but the way Jen and Alicia pushed him and shoved him, something was bound to happen. Tony and Jen had a baby together - 1 year old Kaitlyn. Who was thinking of her? I guess Tony was and thats why he snapped. Both girls knew that the baby was not to be brought anywhere near Alicia, but they didnt care, they did it anyway. After Alicias molestation issues came out, it was promised that she would stay away from the baby - she lied. Tony had always been afraid of someone molesting Kaitlyn. I'll bet that had a huge part in this as well.
Where were the parents of these two girls? If I had a daughter, I'd kill her myself for even thinking of doing such a thing. If they had the idea "oh, isn't that nice, they're in love "(for a minute anyway as they destroyed a family that had been together for years). They contributed to this problem. I hope you two read this (the parents) and realize that that was stupid, selfish thinking. The kind that ended one life forever and put another guy, who would never have done such a thing unless it involved his daughter and his girl in jail - which probably won't be for as long as it is in most shooting cases. Hell, even the government recognizes that these situations bring out the beast in everyone. He didnt even run - a sign of a pre-meditated situation. He simply went a few blocks away to his sisters house, not expecting to run away. He didn't even remember what he had done.
SO. Someone talk to the parents of these two selfish women (Alicia's and Jen's) and if you agreed with it in the beginning - your just as guilty. If your considering a "love triangle" situation for yourself - grow up! Get your own man/woman. Leave your best friends alone. If there are children involved, you dont deserve them - give them to someone else for awhile. Kids like Jen clearly didnt care about the welfare of her daughter to bring Alicia in like that to a house Tony paid for. Too see mommy kissing and(god forbidwhatever else) making out with daddys friend is pretty damn low!I wonder if anyone involved in this case EVER considers this? That's sick, sick, sick people.
You should all be very ashamed. Statistically, love triangles often lead to the kind of event were discussing. When it happens, you can all just point to Tony and say "that's him alright". Thats nice and tidy. Put yourself in his palce, how would you feel? Add to it the nonstop in your face things they both did to make it worse. I know it for sure - I was there from the beginning.
Mothers, take better care of your daughters. In other countries, the two women would have been shot immediately for such a horrible thing. I know one of you always goes along with whatever she wanted - even if it was illegal, crazy or showed no common sense. I've met Alicias mom and know that it was a free for all for her. I dont know Jens mom - saw her once though. She looks a little smarter than Alicias and, I understand that she was the one to find the body. Tough job
Posted by: IM | October 10, 2007 at 01:31 AM
Wow, it is obvious that IM is either very close to or related to Anthony, but how anyone in there right mind can even try to make excuses for a MURDERER is beyond me. Although there may have been some issues that people do not agree with in regards to Alicia and Jen, whether it be a lifestyle or past issues that are not agreed upon that is never an excuse for what he did. If he did not want his child around Alicia then that is what court is for not a gun. I have met Alicia a few times and the fact that she was a "lesbian" does not make her a bad person. Now I do not know all of the other details that are posted here and nor do I need to, because again NOTHING excuses murder.

OH an for the comment about alicia and jen being wrong and there parents should have stepped in that is bull you dont know what your talking about..people break up EVERYDAY and they dont go murder the other person people leave people for best friends all the time but they dont go shoot them 12 times IN FRONT OF HIS BABY! AND YOU SAY HE WAS THINKING ABOUT HER AND THATS WHY HE DID IT? whos name BY THE WAY IS NOT KAITLYN IS KAYLEE AND SHES ALMOST 2 AND A HALF NOT ONE so get your information straight! i was good friends of both of them and your right it is about right and wrong and TONY is wrong the THOUGHT of murdering another human being is wrong you think tony was faithful? hell no! what do you think pushed jen to leave him...EXACTLY so if you think that murdering alicia in front of his 2 year old baby who REMEMBERS EVERYTHING most likely over a break up is right then your just as sick as he is

This whole thing is very sad and my heart goes out to both families, I have known Tony since he was in the 6th grade with my son, yes I was so surprized to hear about this. Our family took Tony with us on many vacations and I just can not believe this. But sometimes when it comes to a heart breaking alot of us do not think with a clear mind, I know Tonys mom and dad and they were very kind to me when my life was falling apart. You can not blame this on the parents, as parents we do the best we can in what life has to hand us.. Sometimes you have to walk in the other persos shoes to say what you would do. I am not saying what Tony did was right but I am sure in that moment his mind just was not there. to both families involved i am very sorry to hear about this. He was the type of child that always kept my boy under control. Please take care Tony and I will be thinking of you Donna

the commets on here make me sick.... alicia would never hurt jen's kid, and tony can rot in hell, he is a killer.... i saw alicia everyday for the last 8 months of her life..... and she was a good woman, who cares if she is a lez or any of that.... it does not matter... tony beat jen up 10 dayz or so prior to this...
the truth will come out and tony will not be the only one goin down!!!!!

about those comments about the white and black stuff....
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT! THEY JUST MENTIONED THAT SHE WAS WHITE! AND THEY MENTIONED THAT TONY WAS HISPANIC! SO SHUT UP. I KNEW ALL OF THESE PEOPLE THAT WERE IN THIS INSODENT AND THEY WERE MY FAMILY! TONY FELT LIKE FAMILY. HE WAS THE NICEST GUY THAT I HAVE EVER MET AND SHOOTING SOMEONE IS THE LAST THING I WOULD EXPECT HIM TO DO. IM NOT SAYING THAT WHAT HE DID WAS RIGHT, I AM SO UPSET THAT HE WOULD DO SUCH A THING, BUT, WHAT IF YOU HEARD THAT SOMEONE WAS MOLLESTING YOUR 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, WOULD YOU JUST SIT THERE AND DO NOTHING?!?! THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A LITTLE BIT.
Posted by: anonymous | February 19, 2008 at 05:16 PM
i knew her and she would never do such a thing to what the 1st comment said that person should be ashamed of what they said and they must be since they stayed anonymous. and the guy that shoot her should rot because he was to week he had to use a gun to hurt my aunt.

Diana ur an idiot, this had nothing to do with race and for u to start a whole convo about it is absurd. Alicia, my good friend, doesnt deserve all that crap or people giving that murderer any sympathy. I like many are glad the trial is here so he can quit putting off what we are all waiting for. She was a lover and was loved by everyone! We miss Alicia everyday... Heather
