Bryan Hollis, 23, a black man, was shot in the head at 1465 E. 114th St. in Watts at about 11:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, and died at 12:10 a.m. Aug. 28 at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood. Another victim of this shooting, a 34-year-old black man, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Hollis was standing with a group of friends inside the Nickerson Gardens housing project when shooters, who police believe were black men or youths, walked up to the group and fired several times into the crowd, then ran.

This is just terrible. Every time someone gets shot in the Lynwood area and have to go to St. Francis medical center, they always die. What is up with those doctors and nurses up there. I think they should just close this hospital down because they are not doing any good to their community. They are not helping to save any lives. It is literally just a waste of time to keep this hospital funded so they can stay open. They are no better than King Hospital. You families should get better insurance for your kids and that way if something does happen to them, they will be able to go to another hospital where there is a higher survival rate and will not have to settle for the bottom of the barrel, because that is all that St. Francis has to offer. I know first hand because I know alot of people that have died at St. Francis......it is just NOT worth it. File a lawsuit because most likely they were negligent.

Tracee, getting shot in the head is usually a fatal wound. Theres noone short of God who can save someone with extensive and traumatic brain injuries

How can you blame a hospital for someones death when the hospital didnt shoot him?

Bryan was my nephew. I am sooooooo ANGRY!!! Another senseless murder!! I miss my nephew so much! He was a very talented and very funny young man! I listen to his music to keep him alive in my heart. I wrote a tribute to my nephew that I read at his funeral, and I would like to share with you how I felt about "DADDY ROE"............
DADDY ROE
God calls young people home everyday,
This is a fact that we all know.
But who could have ever imagined that
God would call on DADDY ROE!!!!!!
I don't think God REALLY knew
Who he was calling for.
Cause DADDY ROE'S gonna be a comic up in heaven,
And have the angels rolling in the floor.
He had a way of making us laugh,
Even if we didn't want to.
He would have us laughing and wetting our pants cause
That's just what Daddy Roe could do!!
And the rhymes he spit were PHENOMENAL!!!!
I never knew he had that in him!!!
I keep hearing his songs over and over,
And I am never going to forget them!!
But Daddy Roe left here way too soon,
He left quick, fast and in a hurry.
I will always laugh when I Ithink of him,
And Eunice, you just remember 'MURRAY'S, MURRAY'S'!
It is soooooo hard to say goodbye to you,
Because your presence is everywhere!!!
And when missing you gets too hard for me,
I'll just take it to the Lord in prayer!!!
So keep them laughing up in heaven Daddy Roe,
And spit them a rhyme or two.
Just keep the music flowing baby,
And remember "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU" !!!
REST IN PEACE!!!!

Daddy Roe should have gone inside to watch t.v.. What was he doin standing around at 11:30 pm? I am sure he was loved by many many people but lets not ask why God called Daddy Roe. I don't hang out at night because I don't want God to call me! I stay inside and lock all my doors, turn on the alarm system and watch t.v. not far from my gun. This increases my chances of missing God's call. This St. Francis hospital is not a free gunshot unit specialist Hospital. This hospital is for sick people. Shooting victims who are shot after 11 pm should not expect very great care. There are too many victims at that time of night. Stay inside people. Stay in school and move out of the "Gardens".

Tracee, why dont you go there and try to get a new brain? Maybe you shouls waist your time trying to stop these senceless killings instead of blaming the hospital...
