Here is this week's Homicide Map, by Michael Quick of USC. Click anywhere on this post to view. Tan markers are homicides from the most recent, coroner's list. Click on each for more information.

Below, close-ups of 2007 homicides mapped in three sections of Los Angeles County as of July.

Left, San Fernando Valley. Middle, West Los Angeles and Hollywood. Right, LA County south of the 10.

Thanks for this map and your efforts for Homicide Blog readers Prof. Quick. On behalf of other HB readers, it is very much appreciated.

Great job on the maps Prof....keep up the great work !

Please keep up the good work.

The map is cool. It would also be great if you or Jill would regularly post a YTD count.

Has Rep. Maxine Waters seen this? How about Mayor V, or Sens. Feinstein and Boxer, or Gov. Schwarzenegger ? Where are the press conferences to stir people's emotions into some action over this? The young job-seeker killed should have been a page 1, top-of-the-fold, banner headline story. More and more I believe that if a murder is perceived as 'gang related' no one of any political consequence cares. I guess some Germans didn't mind some people being rounded up as long as they were Jewish, either.

Rep Waters, Sens. Feinstein/Boxer, or any other elected official whose CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY IS TO PROTECT US will never get my vote until I feel they are doing something to stem this ethnic cleansing.

The captions for the three small maps are incorrect. The one on the left is the valley, right is south of the 10.
