Shawn Sowell, 33, a black man, was recorded as a homicide victim in South Los Angeles in LAPD jurisdiction; time of death, 1 a.m. Aug. 21. He had recently gotten out of prison and was shot by someone after a brief dispute. More information to come.

it sickens me over and over time after time! when will it stop? we are fighting a war in iraq and in L.a, and we are losing both.if 90% of the victims were white we would have the national gaurd in the streets to protect them.but no since it's blacks and latinos no one cares.the mayor in a big "JOKE"! let face it. they want us to believe it`s traditinal gang war but it`s not, it so racial out here it`s not even fuuny. we have these stupid little hispanic gang bangers out here taking orders from the pen to kill blacks and they do it and the stupid little black gangbangers to dumb to realize that they are being systematically destoryed.what will it take?, when will it stop? how many must die before this wave of destruction is stopped? but in all honesty the war has begun,it`s not even so much of who started what?, it`s more of what can be done. i`m a blackman and i fear for my life everyday so i will protect mine by any means, i hate this city and i love this city that`s why i`m writing this! i pray for everyone who has losted their lives on both sides in this stupid war, over what?, to be the top of the bottom, please! get real.

since our BLACK culture is only concerned about what we' re wearin,;gangbanging,smokin weed,having sex,being jealous of what a person have and they dont is sad.until we as black folks learn to love and care for each other and have each others back we as people can have as much power as we want.ITS MORE TO LIFE THAN CARS,CELL PHONES,JEWLERY,MONEY,AN CLOTHES. ITS GROWN FOLKS,GROWN MEN AND KIDS RUNNING AROUND HERE WEARIN SHIT THAT THEY CANT AFFORD AND LIVING IN THE GHETTO.THAT DONT MAKE NO SCENTS. FEMALES RUNNIN AROUND HERE LIKE THEY GOT IT GOIN ON STUCK ON THE COUNTY RECEIVING SECTION 8 looking like straight fools.we BETTER THINK ABOUT THE SITUATIONS WE ARE IN AND DO BETTER.
