Teen Killed, Hollywood

Hollywood: Edwin Orozco, 17, a Latino youth, was shot in the 1000 block of Ardmore at 12:55 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 31. He was transported to County-USC Medical Center, where he died. LAPD Det. Wendi Berndt said investigators believe a Latino man came up on foot, argued with Edwin, then pulled out a gun and shot him. The suspect escaped on foot. It was a brazen killing, in broad daylight, with people around in the street. The suspect is 24 to 26 years old, 5-foot-8, 160 to 170 pounds, with short black hair and a dark complexion.
