May 15, 2007 |  5:21 pm

Roderick Poole, 45, a white man, was stabbed at 1650 N. Highland Ave. in Hollywood on Sunday, May 13, and died at 10:06 p.m.

Poolerod2He was stabbed in the parking lot of Mel's drive-In at about 9:35 p.m. Investigators believe Poole, who was walking with his wife, got into an argument with a woman driving a car who nearly hit him. They exchanged words, and the woman and her husband, who was a passenger in the car, attacked him, stabbing Poole several times with a knife. Police worked through the night and arrested the pair, who are both Latino and from South Los Angeles. She was apprehended at her home; he was taken into custody at a relative's house. They are Michael Sheridan, 25, and his wife, Angela Sheridan, 24. They are being held on about $1million dollars bail each, and face possible murder charges.

A friend who contacted The Homicide Report described Poole as a native of England, and a skilled guitar player and guitar teacher.

Anyone with additional information on what happened is asked to call LAPD Hollywood detectives Vickie Bynum and Larry Cameron at (213) 972-2910 or (213) 972-2905.

I am devestated... I am sure I speak for all who knew Rod when I say the world has lost a truly good man...A great musician, collector and most of all a great friend.. JP

so meaningless and sad. what a waste... this man had magical powers when his fingers hit the strings... a true unsung hero of just intonation... and more. you will be missed... but your recordings will live on as long as there are record players, and humans able to operate them.

We'll miss you "white man" Roddy, what a tragedy !!

Wow, I’m sorry to learn of this killing here in my neighborhood. I’m sorry to read most of the killing of white people have been at the hands of Latino’s. As a Latino my self this has been a shameful and revealing experience. Only one other killing has been committed by a person of another race, a black person (which the L.A. Times refused to identify him as such, only saying he had a short afro. The L.A. Times has no problem identifying Latinos when they kill white victims but will not identify black suspects) up to this point. All the other 3 or 4 killings have domestic disputes presumably by same race killers. I can’t believe all the black and Latino men throwing away their lives for stupid little perceived slight, not getting into a party they weren’t invited to. As such I can see why there is little integration between the white community and other minority communities, especially black and Hispanic.

Sheridan is not a Latino last name.

John you are right, Sheridan is not a Latino last name... Also is not appropriate to speak about races in such way. All races carry a variety of people with different intentions. Only reason you hear about Latinos or African Americans committing this kind of tragedies is because Caucasians are committing others. Trace your view in the news paper what majority of people is crazy enough to go on a shoot out spree. Not a Latino or African American but young man from Caucasian families. Either way all races carry humans with low morals and no feelings that can commit a crime of any length without regret.

it doesnt matter what race it was that stabbed him. What matters is that you call the Office / station they're being held at, and make sure they spend life in prison or get the death penalty...preferably the latter.
