Jahaira Keys, 17

Jahaira Keys, a 17-year-old black young woman, was struck in the head by a bullet at 880 E. Donminguez St. in Carson, and died at 12:57 a.m. Thursday, May 3.

Sheriff's investigators gave this account: She had been at a club called Bistro 880. Members of a gang were having an evening party there. Some of their rivals from another gang, wearing gang colors, had shown up to crash the party but were thrown out.

The rivals changed clothes and tried again to get in, but they were recognized. This prompted a fight, which spilled out into the parking lot. Jahaira was in a group of people gathered in a circle watching the fight when a heavyset black woman across the street, who investigators believe was associated with one of the gangs, fired randomly into the group. Jahaira was struck in the head and died at the scene.

Thanks you God and the LAPD for capture the woman responbile for the killing of Jahaira Keys.

My heart goes out to anyone that cares about this child. I'm just dumbfounded at the fact that no one seems to be concerned with the bigger problem here. A 17 year old "baby" was out after midnight, at a 21 and older club with gang bangers, on what should have been a school night. To blame the security is removing the responsibility from the parents or guardians of this young child. We should be mortified as a people that this stuff happens here VIRTUALLY EVERYDAY! Further, we need to stop looking for answers in all of the wrong places, and begin to look in the mirror. What are YOU doing to prevent these types of tragic events? Let's think about it Brothers and Sistas! Learn to police yourself and your loved ones.

how come the security that turned away the group the first time, didn't call the police when they re appeared a second time? maybe this would have avoided someone getting killed? i guess my question is how mant times do you turn away an instigator before the police is called? more than 2 huh?
