The Report is short on dispatches and photos this week. But a change in format and increased traffic has brought a new flood of comments and e-mails in recent weeks.

A sample of them is offered below. Comments and e-mails to the site run the gamut--some critical, some thankful, some informative. A particular thanks goes to those people who contact the Report to point out crime scenes in progress or cases and details that the Report has missed. E-mails and calls are returned in as timely a manner as possible, but as they mount up, there may be a delay. Anonymous tips phoned or e-mailed to the Report are passed on to law enforcement. Requests for more information are difficult to honor because of the growing volume of new material each week, but an effort is made. The Homicide Report edits comments according to a number of criteria, including relevance, hearsay, and profanity.
