Randy Almanza, a 17-year-old Latino youth, was shot in the head at 6722 Vineland Ave. in North Hollywood, and died at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 18.
The suspects--a neighbor among them--walked up to Almanza about 12:30 a.m. that night and shot him after what police described as a quarrel between rival tagging crews. He died later at St. Joseph's hospital. Two Latino suspects in their 20s have been arrested and the investigation continues.

I miss you so much little brother. Ever since that Sunday morning when God decided it was time for you to go ever since then life has not been the same. I think about you every day and miss you even more every minute. How i wish this was all just a bad dream and that sooner or later i'll wake up, and find you in your room bumping that crazy music of yours. What i'd give to see and hear you again. I LOVE YOU RANDY!!!! Til we meet again little brother, now i just have to wait for my turn, but im not scared at all because i know that when that time comes you will be there waiting for me at the entrance with open arms and we will take off from were we left off and together we will both live in paradise and the hurt will be there no more. Amazing how life seems so slow without you around...i cant help but cry becuase although it was your time...i didnt want to let go....Not having your smile around is painful.....But i realizse I'd be selfish if I didnt let you basque in your paradise.....you are always amazing....here on earth nd im sure in heaven everyones smiling with your jokes that didnt make sense sometimes....

So he was one of those taggers that help spread urban decay in the city? And he got shot by rival taggers?
I'd say he was asking for trouble and found it.
I wonder if the city ever sued his family to recover the costs of cleaning up the mess this guy made?

My little brother sufferd a horrible death and for you to talk about him this way hurts our family very much. You should be ashamed! Even if my brother was a part of a tagging crew, Randy didnt deserve to die. Did you know that that bullet wasnt for him? Did you know that Randy tried to diffuse the incident? Did you know that because of Randy his friend is alive? No you dont!!! has your mother or father or even you ever tried to give back to the cities, locations, and such that your brother tagged? Have you ever said to the person whose wall was tagged by your brother sorry? Your brother died because he was out late at night doing something he should not have been doing. An innocent person, I don't think so caught up in his own web of stupidity sounds more like it. I'm sorry any time a crime is committed. May be if his mother would have brought down the house to make sure her minor son was at home by 10:00 pm this would have never happend. Tagging crews bring along with them decay and lawlessness. It is also just a nicer word then gang. Because they often engage in the same type of activities. Am I sorry this happened, yes, just like I'm sorry every Satruday morning when I have to go out and paint the side wall where my job is because some tagging crew hit it last night.

Just so everyone knows....Randy wasnt killed at 12:00 in the morning like the papers say. It was a bright Sunday morning, to be exact 12:30 p.m. he passed away two hours later...Randy was on his way home from his good friends home who had asked Randy if he could lend him a hand to repaint his room. The incident happened right outside our building...Randy was on his way home....Dont judge my parents they raised four wonderful children, it just so happens that we lost one because a pathetic,crazy, drugged out gangbanger decided to shoot people. To answer your question about giving back...yes we do our part might not be much but we do, not only now but before we lost our Randy. So dont let the media brain wash you and dont believe everything you read. We all know that the main goal for the media is to entertain. I know what my brother was about and he wasnt anything like the papers made him out to be.

Look bottom line he was a criminal, he tagged up public places because he could. Worst part he used the cover of friends to do it.
Good kid who did a few bad things? Or a bad kid who finally got caught? I guess we will never really know. However, this very public form is no place to carry on a memorial for anyone. This very public form is out here for all to respond, not the place you want to air your dirty laundry unless you are ready to hear from a few dozen other sides. Good luck to you and your family.
