Marcellus Wright, a 25-year-old black man, was shot by police officers at the intersection of Broadway Place and 36th Place after a foot chase, and died at 7:58 p.m. Feb. 24. The shooting took place just south of the Santa Monica Freeway and east of the Harbor Freeway.

Officers from LAPD’s Newton Division pulled over a car with three occupants for a traffic stop at the intersection at about 7:37 p.m., police said.
