Erasmo Santos, 21

March 1, 2007 |  4:36 pm

Erasmo Santos, a 21-year-old Latino man, was shot in the head at 24012 Vista Montana St. in Torrance and died at 5:53 p.m. Feb. 18.

Santos, identified by police as Erasmo Antonio Artero-Santos, 21, was in the crowded Mongol King restaurant when suspect Victor Hernandez, 20, also Latino, walked up to him and, standing "close enough to touch him," fired a small-caliber gun, Torrance Police Lt. Rod Irvine said. Hernandez, pictured below, considered Santos a rival for the affections of his 16-year-old girlfriend. Torrance police surrounded Hernandez's home in Harbor City afterward and arrested him when he walked out.
