Aneesah Daaimah Akbar, 28

March 21, 2007 |  2:48 pm

Akabr_aneesah_2 Aneesah Daaimah Akbar, a 28-year-old black woman, was found dead at 12211 Manor Drive in Hawthorne on Monday, March 12. Her ex-boyfriend was subsequently arrested and charged with her murder.

According to detectives, Akbar was a college student getting her real estate license. She was moving on with her life, but had remained on civil terms with the ex-boyfriend, whom she allowed into her apartment the previous night. Detectives say he may have choked her, but the precise cause of death is pending, and as a result, Akbar's case has not been officially ruled a homicide by the coroner. Her name is included on this list because of the exceptional circumstance of a suspect having been charged in her murder.

This was my daughter. May Allah forgive you of your sins and grant you paradise in the hereafter Aneesah. I love you. Mom

I didn't know her to well, but she was a very nice young lady. I was sad to hear that she had passed away. Even though I didn't know her for that long, she was nice to me. May she rest in peace and I give all of my regards to her family. Loved but not forgotten

Aneesah was such a good person, she had a good heart and enjoyed life to the fullest. She had so much to offer in life. All of her friends miss her and will always carry her in our hearts. May her soul rest in peace and God bless all of her loved ones whom she left behind. We love you Aneesah, you are still "Queen B" WE LOVE YOU SWEETIE !

First and foremost my heart goes out to the family of Aneesah D. Akbar and may Allah allow her to watch over us as we continue in this crazy world. I had the pleasure of meeting "Snacks" while we were in the Navy in 2000. One of the best things I remember about Aneesah was her smile and the way that she could light up the whole room with her aoura. She was the first woman that I met from LA and her beatuy and her hard word made her a great compliment to anyone who got to know her. I remember Aneesah giving me her real estate buisness card a few years back and I hope that I still have as a reminder of what she was about. "Snacks" I personally apologize for the delay of this but I didn't find out until this Sunday and I hope to see you when I get there. 1LOVE

This is a friend of 5+ years man. We had unfinished business together....You will not be forgotten.....

I went to basic training in the same graduation group with Aneesah and served with her in the same command in the Navy. She served her country well and was a true hero and patriot. She loved life and was very positive about everything, a virtue that not a lot of people have.

My condolences to her family. She will never be forgotten. She will be missed... "fair winds and following seas, Aneesah.."

First and foremost my heart goes out to Akbar's love ones her whole entire family. I spent four years on a ship with her and i can honestly say that i have never met a more lively person than she was. She always had a smile on her face and i can't even find the worlds to explain what a wonderful person she was. We miss u girl, we miss your smile, your magnetic personallity, we miss your brilliance and we will always remember you. You have left your mark on the hearts of each and everyone that ever met you and we will always hold on to that. May your soul rest in peace. We love u and we miss u..Phil

Man this is hard for real. She was and still is a beautiful person. My last time seeing her was here in Cali about February 2007. This is hard to believe. She was so happy and talking of her Real Estate and Home Appraisals. We set up and talked of the OSCAR AUSTIN for a long time. A lot of laughs we had. when i read her page. i just had to find out what happenned. To her family I would like to say, " keeep strong and God Bless You all." i'll keep you all in my prayers.

I was stationed with Aneesah at Port Operations Little Creek from 2004-2005, when I retired from the service. I was looking up old shipmates on the Together We Served website, and was very shocked to learn of her sudden death. I enjoyed working with her, and she definitely had plans on moving forward with her real estate career. She will certainly be missed by everyone who worked with her.

My prayers are with her mother, for I know this had to be devastating. To the man who did this, I hope justice will be served.

I was in boot camp with Aneesah same division. Her and I kept in touch over the years off and on. She was a very good person and had so much charisma, she tripped me out :) That was my girl. We lost contact last time I talked with her she was at Port Ops Little Creek and for the past year I had been trying to find her and get back in touch with her. I knew she was previously on the Oscar Austin and now I work with some one who just left there and I of course asked about Aneesah today, and not expecting at all the answer that I got. Completely shocked and deeply saddened to find out this devastating news. She had been on my mind, never thought this.

My sincere condolences to her mother and family who loved and knew her best. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

We Thank you all for your comments/condolences regarding Aneesah. I can imagine how shocked all of you are. I myself still cannot believe this has happen but that is life. Allah is in charge. He send us all here and to him is our return. I pray for Aneesah every day that Allah will have mercy on her (as well as us all) on the day of ressurection. You may send and email if you want to get in contact with me. Once again, thank you and much love to you all. eakbar7@homail.com

Akbar, We were good on the O.A. We were good the last time I saw you at the exchange on Little Creek. I ldidn't know this would be the last time that we spoke and rapped with each other. It shocks me to hear of your death becaus no one ever had a problem with you. Oscar Austin is a tight knit crew so we all feel your lost. We love you and respect you. We miss you and wish you were here. May GOD bless you and keep you hold. As we learn of your transition to be with the LORD, I pray that your family know that your NAVY family has taken a major lost and pray for forgiveness for boring four years of your life. Many have rested while you stood the watch, you may now rest while we stand the watchc. Officer Of the Deck, I stand the watch for BM3 Akbar has been relieved of the watch. MAY GOD BLESS YOUR SOLE. JB

Aneesah was one of my best friends. I've known her since Elementary school. I talked to her last back in 2003 and we somehow lost contact again. She has also been on my heart heavily for the past year or so for some reason and I have been searching for her since, only to find this out. I just found out two days ago of her passing. This was the most devistating news I've had in a long time. I still can't believe it. I hurt so bad right now.She was so beautiful and hilarious too. I loved her smile. It automatically made you smile too.

Anessah, I love you very much and you will never be forgotten...
