Detectives put out new photos and a new plea for the public’s help Friday in the mysterious killing of 21-year-old Nicole Harvey, whose body was found burned and dumped in the 8100 block of Tuscany Avenue in the Playa Del Rey area on Jan. 26. The day she disappeared, Harvey, who was studying child development at Southwest College, went to wait for a bus between 8 and 8:30 a.m. at the corner of 45th Street and Western Avenue in South Los Angeles on her way to work in a day-care center. Her hair was arranged in the braids shown in the picture at the left, and she was wearing a brown camouflage jacket with a faux-fur hood. Harvey was ‘a very special young woman’ who sang in her church, according to one mourner who e-mailed The Times. Police are seeking tips from anyone who might have seen her. Call (213) 485-2129.
