Are there fewer homicides when it rains?

Maybe. But the difference may not be much.
A Times examination of Los Angeles city homicides on the two dozen rainiest winter days between 2003 and 2005 found that homicides were only slightly less likely on rainy days. The analysis, which used data from the LAPD and the National Weather Service, showed that there were an average of 1.25 homicides per day in the city on rainiest winter days, compared to an average of 1.39 homicides per day overall during the three-year period.
