Designers Benjamin Luddy and Makoto Mizutani have been steadily adding pieces to Scout Regalia, their smart line of handcrafted furnishings made here in Los Angeles. Last year, the designers released the SR Outdoor Table Set, a hip version of the classic picnic table made of redwood and enameled aluminum in more than 200 playful colors.

For this summer, Scout Regalia has released the SR White Oak Table Set, a sunny update of the original SR table, this time made with American white oak and aluminum.

‘We chose white oak for several reasons,’ Luddy said. ‘It’s a very durable wood and weathers nicely with or without a finish. It’s grown, harvested and milled in America. We love the tone and tight grain of white oak.’

The set comes untreated for $3,100 or clear-coated for $3,400. Because each table is made to order based on the customer’s choice of enamel color, delivery takes four to six weeks (and costs extra).
To view the table and benches in person, visit ReForm School, where it is on display in the original redwood. Scout Regalia also will be selling garden table kits at Dwell on Design’s Remodelista Market next week.
