The Deal: IKEA kitchens up to 20% off

Ikea-2011-kitchen-design-ideas-3

If you've been thinking about purchasing an IKEA kitchen, now is a good time to act.

Through May 1 the stores are offering up to 20% off kitchen packages.

Here's how it works: Spend at least $2,500 and you get 10% off. The discount applies to Akurum cabinet boxes, your choice of cabinet fronts, drawers, Rationell interior organizers, moldings, hinges and cover panels, as well as countertops (including CaesarStone), appliances, sinks and faucets. If your order includes two appliances, each priced $199 or higher, the savings rise to 15%.  If the order includes three appliances -- say, a range, range hood and microwave oven -- the savings rise to 20%.

The backsplash pictured here isn't an IKEA option but rather an example of how customers can use big-box buys for the bones of a remodel and still make the result feel personal. One piece of advice from a colleague who learned the hard way: If you're at all considering the solid pull-out drawers for a pantry or cabinet, take the plunge now. If you go to add them later, you not only lose the sale savings but also have to swap out the door hinges.

Click for the IKEA store locator or call for further information: (800) 434-IKEA.
