Does anything say "1970s" quite like macramé?

Would you call this owl a piece of art? Craft? Hideous waste of twine? However your answer, consider this challenge: We're wondering if some ambitious crafty-type person out there can create a modern version of the owl, originally featured in a column titled "For Gifted Hands."
