The Deal: Modernica warehouse sale

The venue has changed but the inventory remains the same: Midcentury modern furnishings will be greatly reduced at Modernica’s new warehouse on Saturday.
Fiberglass shell chairs, Hans Wegner Papa Bear lounge chairs, George Nelson bubble lamps and vintage furnishings from the manufacturer’s prop department will be discounted 30% to 80% at what the company says is its largest factory sale to date.
The fiberglass arm shell rocker above, regularly $375, will sell for $225. The Case Study day bed pictured at right, regularly $1,698, will be $899. Medium-size saucer bubble lamps, regularly $329, will be $225.
In addition, a vintage Eames lounge chair in black leather and rosewood, right, will be sold with matching ottoman; the price will be reduced to $1,250 from $2,995. The new Lief mattress, specifically designed for platform beds, will also be on sale.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2871 Saco St. (at 37th Street), Vernon. Modernica suggests shoppers arrive early for best selection. Customers can pick up their purchases or arrange for delivery for a fee. A 48-hour online sale begins Thursday at midnight.
