The Deal: Luna Garcia pottery sale

November 3, 2010 |  6:00 am

I love that you can mix and match Luna Garcia's colorful handmade pottery and dinnerware with such ease. Given so many coordinating colors and patterns, the pressure is off to buy place settings all at once. Just add to your collection as you go, especially now that the Venice studio is hosting a pre-holiday sale.

Through Sunday, Luna Garcia is marking down all its pottery by 20% to 25%. This includes dinner plates and pasta bowls (regularly $56 each), dessert bowls (regularly $30), large serving bowls (regularly $220) and accessories such as the tall curvy vase shown above (regularly $150).

Co-owner Cindy Ripley said the discounts also apply to items that were already marked down. "We have a large room filled with seconds, discontinued colors and -- experiments," Ripley said, laughing.

A 20% discount will be offered Wednesday through Saturday; the best deals will be on Sunday, when the store offers 25% off remaining stock. Shop from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at 201 San Juan Ave., Venice, or online (use coupon code HS10 at checkout). Information: (310) 396-8026.
