I enjoy reading CB2’s blog, which goes beyond the usual design fodder. Sure, the retailer highlights shopping trends and includes a healthy dose of product placement, but it also posts funky music mixes, recipes and clever DIY projects such as how to make a bubble wreath out of clear glass balls (sold at CB2, natch).

The blog also highlights a CB2 Thanksgiving tradition: Through Nov. 24, CB2 nationwide is hosting an in-store ‘can do’ food drive to benefit local nonprofits. Each customer who brings in seven non-perishable food items to any CB2 location, including the West Hollywood or Santa Monica stores, will receive 15% off any purchase. That means the price on the Lubi daybed, above, regularly $799, drops to $679.15.

All the food will go to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Carpet tiles by Flor and the Geneva Sound System are excluded from the promotion.
