The Deal: Turkish imports at Distant moving sale

Distant

In preparation for a move to 3rd Street on Nov. 1, the Turkish import store Distant in L.A. is slashing prices on lamps, pillowcases and the ceramics by 70% to 80%.

"We always wanted to be in that area but there was nothing available," owner Arzu Benavides says of her new storefront near the Beverly Center. "It’s a good step for us."

Among the great deals: chenille pillow covers starting at $5 each, hand-blown glass lamps starting at $25 and handmade ceramics for $5 and up.

The sale runs through Oct. 27 at 4516 Hollywood Blvd., which many folks will think of as Los Feliz but The Times' Mapping L.A. project classifies as East Hollywood. The store is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
