The Deal: Weekend sidewalk sale on L.A.’s 3rd Street

The annual West 3rd Street Summer Sidewalk Sale is this weekend. Merchants along one of L.A.’s design-heavy shopping districts will offer deals and refreshments.
Plastica, above, will have a table of discounted housewares and totes. Vintage 1960s inflatable pillows with silk-screened patterns from Mass Art Products, formerly $10 each, will be selling for two for $15.
Joan’s on Third, at right, will serve wine samples and sweets, and fashion designer Trina Turk will be marking down select items as much as 75%.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday between Fairfax Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard. Valet parking is available at the Little Door, 8164 W. 3rd St., for $4.50; three other valet parking stands ($3.50) will be marked by orange umbrellas.
