The Deal: Weekend sidewalk sale on L.A.'s 3rd Street

The annual West 3rd Street Summer Sidewalk Sale is this weekend. Merchants along one of L.A.'s design-heavy shopping districts will offer deals and refreshments.

Joans Plastica, above, will have a table of discounted housewares and totes. Vintage 1960s inflatable pillows with silk-screened patterns from Mass Art Products, formerly $10 each, will be selling for two for $15.

Joan's on Third, at right, will serve wine samples and sweets, and fashion designer Trina Turk will be marking down select items as much as 75%.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday between Fairfax Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard. Valet parking is available at the Little Door, 8164 W. 3rd St., for $4.50; three other valet parking stands ($3.50) will be marked by orange umbrellas.

I'll keep this in mind for the weekend. Haus furniture is also in that area (La Brea and Melrose). They have sales all the time, they have a dope selection of cheap modern furniture. Their stuff is literally 40%-60% off. All the time.
