The Deal: Save $100 on Mechano chair at Areaware

Although I believe German designer Andre Klauser when he says he wanted to create a side chair "based on the aesthetics of industrial shelving," I think his Mechano chair for Thorsten van Elten looks more like a vintage metal Erector Set scaled up into furniture.

The playful chair, made of folded steel and manufactured in England, measures 31.5 inches tall. It is available in several powder-coat colors, but only yellow and red are on sale at Areaware. Normally $500 apiece, the chair has been reduced to $400. Shipping is included in the price.
