From noon-5 p.m. Saturday, merchants on a 12-block stretch of Beverly Boulevard will entice shoppers with cocktails, snacks and sale prices. Home decor participants include Rehab Vintage Interiors, Material Environment and Eccola.

The action takes place between La Brea and Stanley avenues, but my suggestion: Park on the design-centric 7300 block, where markdowns run the gamut from it’s-kinda-like-not-paying-sales-tax to half-off. Interior designer Gary Gibson is offering 15% off select vintage items at his store. At Specific, owner Brooks Hudson Thomas is giving all shoppers the 15% discount he usually gives interior designers on new merchandise; vintage items will be 25% off.

The most generous offer comes from designer Helene Ige, known for her intricate paper and wood veneer mobiles. Ige has selected half of her merchandise and marked it down 50%. The wooden candle holders (in the photo above at left), once $85 to $125 each, will be $42.50 to $62.50. The shoe-shaped beech wood and horsehair shoe brush will be reduced to $92.50. The Vitra miniatures of the classic architect-designed chairs will be $102.50. And those reductions are not just for Saturday, but good through the end of August.
