Grow your art supplies? See how in Manhattan Beach

Edible

Learn how to grow your own art supplies when Home Grown Edible Landscapes and Reaney Design Co. host "The Artful Garden -- Designing and Using an Art Garden at Home" on Saturday.

Lecturing from the ocean-view learning garden of Reaney Design, above, master gardener Geri Miller will discuss plants that can serve as natural art supplies. She also will demonstrate how to make dyes from plant blooms.

The event is a benefit for the Young at Art enrichment program for South Bay students. It will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at 803 Manhattan Ave., Manhattan Beach. A $12 donation covers cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. RSVP to (310) 546-8727 or info@myhgel.com.
