Kill your grass. Get a bumper sticker.

Because summer is the best time to kill warm-season grasses, Tree of Life Nursery in San Juan Capistrano is reprising its popular ‘Replace Your Lawn’ series, beginning July 3.

The weekly workshops will offer tips on how to kill your lawn, develop design ideas and choose the right plants -- they’ll highlight 30 on site -- for your particular design theme.

The workshops run every Saturday in July and begin at 9 a.m. All of the workshops are free and come with the ‘I Killed My Lawn’ badge-of-pride bumper sticker, shown above. Each session lasts about an hour and a half, and no reservations are required. Tree of Life Nursery, the largest grower of native plants in the state, is located at 33201 Ortega Highway in San Juan Capistrano. (949) 728-0685.
