So many stylish raised-bed solutions have become available. One of the latest, the M Brace, is also among the easiest. No tools required.

The M Brace, which is made of recycled steel, can create a small space bed or hold boards as long as 12 feet per side. Rectangular or square -- it doesn’t matter. Choose the lumber you like -- old fence boards or grape stakes will do -- and slide them into the braces. Add soil and start planting.

The simple construction also means these are easy to disassemble -- say if you need to move your garden into more sun. Simply slide out the boards and move the bed to a new location.

The M Brace ($165 for a set of four braces) comes in eight different laser-cut designs and is available online at Art of the Garden.
