The Deal: Weekend sale at Seaside Gardens <br> discounts all plants by 20%

Seaside Gardens in Carpinteria is just another retail nursery like St. Peter’s is just another church. On its three acres are 11 demonstration gardens composed of succulents, tropicals and other wondrous plants from South Africa, Australia, the Mediterranean and California.

Although strolling through the botanical gardens is a nice weekend escape, Seaside Gardens is offering even more incentive for Angelenos to drive north: All plants will be discounted by 20% this Saturday and Sunday.

For those coming from points north, water district representatives and landscape designers will be on hand to discuss Santa Barbara County’s Smart Landscape Rebate Program from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
