We are where we sit, and where many of us sit these days is a little sturdier, perhaps a little wider. That’s a reflection of the growth of our girth. More than two-thirds of the adults in this country are overweight or obese, and that’s got policymakers worried about the consequences for the nation’s health and the cost of healthcare.

They’re surely a little less weighty, but there are furniture consequences too. Read more about them in the lead story in our print edition this week.
