Textiles from the Finnish company Marimekko seem never to lose their contemporary feel, even if the patterns were created in 1977, as is the case with the irrepressibly sunny bed linens above. Surely no one has nightmares cocooned in these.

Originally designed by Maija Isola, the line -- called Madison -- are new to Crate and Barrel. But that isn’t stopping the retailer from discounting them already.

The 300-thread-count cotton percale linens are available in yellow, green, taupe and blue. Sheet sets (flat, fitted and pillowcase) normally priced $99.95-$149, are now reduced to $84.95-$124. Comforters are also about 15% off, down to $84.95 to $119. Duvet covers are even less: $64.95-$99.95. Pillow shams cost $29.95 or $34.95 for king-size.
