Jan. 26: Puay-peng Ho, director of the school of architecture at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, lectures on ‘Poetic Milieu and Painterly Spirit: Associative Imageries in Chinese Gardens of the 16th Century.’ 7:30 p.m. Friends’ Hall at the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, 1151 Oxford Road, San Marino. Jan. 26: The winter Thursday Garden Talks With Lili Singer continues with a field trip to Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino hosted by Huntington gardens director Jim Folsom. The tour will stop at the Huntington’s Botanical Center, the interactive Conservatory for Botanical Science, Children’s Garden and Chinese Garden. A plant sale follows the tour. Jan. 30: Horticulturist Lili Singer will lecture on ‘The ABC’s of Native Plant Gardening,’ an introductory class sponsored by Nopalito Native Plant Nursery. 1 p.m. Calvary Christian Fellowship Church, 4221 E. Jan. 30: Gardening consultant Marta Teegan leads this workshop on composting at home using a two-bin method or worm composting. 1 to 2 p.m. $30.
