The Deal: Bauer Pottery sale of seconds continues online through Jan. 4
So you missed the annual Bauer Pottery holiday clearance sale of seconds?
It's not too late. Beginning today and continuing through Jan. 4, Bauer will offer online discounts of up to 60% on its brightly colored, if slightly imperfect, ringware.
To give you an idea how these reductions translate: A dinner plate that's normally $28 is now $20, a cookie jar, normally $90, is $63, a butter dish is reduced to $38.50 from $55, a $70 cake stand is now $49, and a 16-inch oil jar that's normally $300 is now $210. But there are many more items, not to mention a few selections by Russel Wright. For a look, click here.
The only downside is there is a minimum order of $150. You can't just walk out of the virtual showroom with a coffee cup. Also, all sales are final. Shipping begins in January.

Considering that you can buy Bauer at plenty of 2nd hand and thrift stores, these prices for seconds seem a little over the top. Bauer was made to be moderately priced tableware, and now, it's bordering on high-end.
