Venicepottery Soothe those holiday blues with color.

Venice-based Luna Garcia handmade pottery and dinnerware (above) features a rich palette of amazing hues to mix and match at every meal. Each signed piece is microwave and dishwasher-safe. And more importantly, it's on sale this weekend.

Luna Garcia is offering discounts of 20%-25% through Sunday. For an idea of pricing, dinner plates are normally $56 each, pasta bowls, $54, dessert bowls, $30, large serving bowls, $220 and an 8 oz. coffee mug, $40.

Bauer Thrift-minded collectors of Bauer Pottery are also in for a good weekend. The Atwater Village studio's annual holiday sale of factory seconds starts today and continues next weekend. The wide variety of discounted items (see photo at right) includes their vintage-styled dinnerware, dogware, their famous oil jars, candlesticks, pitchers and other brightly colored designs with minor defects or uneven glazing.

This year's sale will feature something new: seconds from the Russel Wright American Modern line, which will be marked down as much as 60%. Today and Dec 12, the Kogi BBQ and Buttermilk food trucks will provide sustenance for flagging shoppers.

Can't make it? A selection of Bauer seconds will be sold online Dec. 16 - Jan. 4, but those orders will be shipped after the holidays.

Bauer Pottery, 3051 Rosslyn St., Los Angeles; (888) 213-0800. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and Dec. 12-13.

Luna Garcia, 201 San Juan Ave., Venice; (310) 396-8026. Open Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. If you shop online, the coupon code is HS9. And there's a free gift with purchase of $250 or more. That's the holiday spirit.
