AstroTurf house numbers from Firmly Planted say, 'We're here!'

December 23, 2009 |  9:38 am

Firmlyplanted

It all started when a concerned fireman came to the door of garden designer Alicia Blas of Firmly Planted and told her he couldn’t see her address anywhere. "If an ambulance had to come, they wouldn’t be able to see our house numbers," admitted the mother of two skateboarding fiends.

So Blas decided to create a visually bold solution inspired by her background in landscaping.

Her new aluminum AstroTurf-covered house numbers, shown above, look alive, but in reality, they require no maintenance. The numbers, each 12 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide, are available in red, green and orange aluminum as well as brushed silver.

Afraid an ambulance still might pass you by? Blas says she can make them in any size.

These Super Bowl-worthy digits are available at the garden design and gift store Pot-ted in Atwater Village. For other items by Blas, such as her AstroTurf-covered exterior clocks and waterproof pillows backed with Sunbrella fabric, click here.
