The Deal: Hennessey + Ingalls bookstore's 20%-off-everything sale ends Saturday
Forget about Kindle. It is easy to lose hours perusing the plywood bookshelves of Hennessey + Ingalls Art & Architecture Bookstores in Santa Monica or Hollywood.
Its 30th annual “20% off Everything Sale,” ending Saturday at 8 p.m., might even make you reach for your wallet.
Highlights both online and in stores include: “Richard Meier, Architect: Volume 5,” a comprehensive look at the Getty Center architect’s work since 2004 (normally $55, now $44): “Frank Gehry: The Houses,” (reduced from $85 to $68): Taschen’s encyclopedic, 440-page “Case Study Houses,” by Elizabeth Smith Peter Goessel, (reduced from $200 to $160 online only); and noted architectural photographer Tim Street-Porter’s “The Los Angeles House: Decoration and Design in America's 20th Century City” (reduced from $60 to $48, online only).
The stores also have a terrific selection of architecture and design magazines, pictured at right in Hollywood, that you might not find anywhere else.
