Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am builds a boom-boom-wow home recording studio

He had a feeling.

The Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am was absolutely sure that his new home recording studio, decorated by Liana Reid, was going to be sick (in the coolest possible way). After all, she installed James Bond-style sliding glass doors, velvet-covered walls and custom iron railings emblazoned with a ‘W’ in gold leaf.

The multi-platinum singer-rapper-producer had just one teeny-weeny regret: The leather rug on the studio floor, above left, was taking a beating.

‘It’s all scuffed,’ he said during my tour and interview. (See the new photo gallery and read my story here.)

Reid had a quick riposte about the shoe-leather floor: ‘That does it,’ she said. ‘I’m coming back to wax and polish them.’
