I have never understood the decorate-like-your-wardrobe mentality when it comes to interior design. I want to wear my Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress, not sleep in it.

Therefore it’s ironic that the new line of bedding and bath from Lilly Pulitzer for Garnet Hill works for me, only in reverse. While Pulitzer’s pink and green outfits made me cringe and think Palm Beach debutante, Lilly Pulitzer Home, set to premiere Jan. 13, feels contemporary and fun in a way that the clothes do not.

Featuring pastel butterflies, flowers and lemons, the textiles are colorful and bohemian and feminine without the Palm Beach feel to them. Dare I say that they have a West Coast sensibility? The line will be affordable, too, with sheets ranging from $45 to $100, quilts from $150 to $200, towels from $14 to $32, rugs from $38 to $78 and shower curtains from $88 to $98.
