The Deal: Gallery of Functional Art secret sale

Buddha bowls

Unusual “functional art” items such as artist Nina Winetraub’s charming ceramic Buddha Bowls pictured above (regularly $100, reduced to $80) will be discounted at a “secret sale” Saturday at the Gallery of Functional Art at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica.

All purchases over $100 will be 20% off. Look for Jason Miller’s unconventional “Seconds” dinnerware, part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Art and Design in New York, with various individual pieces and sets marked down to between $80 and $112. Ted Swiet’s aluminum Exploding Briefcase light fixture, normally $2,300, will be $1,840.

Look for these one-day-only deals from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gallery of Functional Art, which includes Lois Lambert Gallery and the Gallery Store.
