Today we learned from the greatest press release ever that there are a lot of similarities between Norwood Young, owner of the infamous house with all the Davids in Hancock park (above), and Michael Jackson:

‘Besides having a birthday that’s just one day apart, interestingly, both Young and Jackson share other similarities: Both men are considered eccentric.... Both men suffered abuse as children. Both men had their share of plastic surgery. And most importantly, both men found refuge in their music.’ (Young made his money as a singer.)

So it should come as no surprise that this year, Young will be celebrating his birthday with a Michael Jackson-themed extravaganza on Aug. 28. Attendees can expect a 14-piece mini-orchestra, a 7-foot replica of Jackson’s jeweled glove, a Jackson impersonator and two reproductions of both ‘kings’ — Jackson, the king of pop, and Norwood, king of Hancock Park (as crowned by L.A. City Beat in 2008 — thank you, L.A. City Beat!). Oh, and each of those 20 Davids will be wearing a classic ‘Thriller’ jacket.

Should be a party to remember!

Writer’s note: I read the press release incorrectly and in an earlier version of this story I said Norwood Young was celebrating his 51st birthday. I’ve been properly reprimanded by Young’s publicist and his wife. It was Michael Jackson who would be celebrating his 51st birthday, Young is not revealing his age.
