I love every single thing about this Neutra house belonging to actress Ann Magnuson and architect John Bertram -- the windows, the proportions, even the way they’ve decorated. I have especially been coveting the Alexander Girard bouquet wall hanging that Magnuson picked up at Skank World: It’s special in a low-key way, and I have the perfect bare wall for it in my house.

A search of the internet revealed that the same wall hanging sold at auction for over $400 this year, but how would I find another one, and even if I did, could I convince my husband to drop that kind of money on a wall hanging? (Not likely).

But look what my colleague David A. Keeps found:

Check it out! The exact same print is selling at Urban Outfitters for $68. At 24 inches by 24 inches, it’s smaller than the one in Magnuson and Bertram’s house, and it’s not an actual wall hanging; it’s more of a screened print hung on a canvas, and of course the gorgeous colors of the original are missing, but still, not bad! Keeps suggested that I buy some fabric paint and add the color myself. At the very least, my husband has agreed to look at it. If only all my problems were so easily solved!

An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified the store where Ann Magnuson bought the Girard print. The intrepid David A. Keeps made the catch and it is now fixed.
